A new policeman arrives at a border town. He moves to Żłobiska from Warsaw, and he wants to start a new phase of his life. He patrols the area on an old work bicycle.

This is how he gets to meet the residents, whose main entertainment consists in drinking the title strawberry wine.

He establishes a close relation with a local beauty, but she gets married to the town’s upstart. The film is an atmospheric story about people, their choices and decisions, as well as about the search for happiness, even if one is already on the other side.
