The second elaboration of the legendary tale of a Slovak folk hero. Juraj Jánošík comes home from university and does not find both parents. His beloved Anka tells him a sad story. He learns that his father was beaten in prison. He goes to the mountains to get revenge together with the other men. The action takes place in 1711 under the rule of Sandor Révay.

- It became the most successful Czechoslovak black and white film of that time. In 1936, the Czechoslovak Film Award went to Martin Frič for directing and Ferdinand Pečenka for cinematography. A year later, it was presented at the 4th Venice International Film Festival, where a Hungarian delegation protested against its screening at the festival. It annoyed her that all the negative characters in the film had Hungarian names. The international dimension is also evidenced by the fact that it was shown in 32 countries.
